Exploring Napa Valley: A Two-Day Wine Country Adventure

Updated: Sep 20, 2023

Hey there, fellow travelers and wine enthusiasts! We're excited to share with you our recent adventure to the picturesque Napa Valley, where we had the pleasure of staying at the fabulous Estate at Yountville.

Spoiler alert: It was a trip filled with breathtaking scenery, top-notch service, and, of course, delicious wine!

The Estate at Yountville: A Slice of Paradise

Our adventure began when we landed in San Francisco with a very quick trip to see the Golden Gate Bridge! Once we enjoyed that beautiful sight, it was on to Napa Valley headed to the stunning Estate at Yountville and let me tell you, it was nothing short of a dream. Nestled amidst the rolling hills and vineyards of Napa Valley, this boutique hotel was an absolute gem. The grounds were a picturesque haven, featuring meticulously landscaped gardens, charming courtyards, and vine-covered pergolas that created a serene atmosphere. From the moment we stepped foot on the property, we were greeted with warm smiles and top-notch service that truly made us feel like royalty.

Winery Delights: Jessup Cellars and Handwritten

Now, let's get to the best part of our trip – the wine! Napa Valley is renowned for its world-class wineries, and we had the pleasure of visiting two exceptional ones – Jessup Cellars and Handwritten.

Jessup Cellars: Our visit to Jessup Cellars was an absolute delight. The moment we walked through their doors, we were enveloped in a cozy, inviting ambiance. Their knowledgeable and passionate staff guided us through a tasting of their finest red wines. From velvety Cabernet Sauvignon to fruity Merlots, we explored a wide range of flavors, each more exquisite than the last. The highlight of the visit was learning about the art of grape cultivation, and how it influences the unique characteristics of their wines. Of course, we couldn't leave without taking home a bottle of their fantastic Cabernet Sauvignon, a perfect memento of our visit.

Handwritten: Our adventure continued at Handwritten, another gem of a winery in Napa Valley. What stood out most at Handwritten was their dedication to crafting wines that showcase the terroir of the region. As we sipped on their beautifully nuanced reds, the knowledgeable sommelier educated us on the process of hand-harvesting grapes and the meticulous attention to detail that goes into every bottle. It was truly fascinating to connect the dots between the grapes' journey from vine to glass. We couldn't resist taking home a bottle of their Pinot Noir!!

In Conclusion

Our trip to Napa Valley was an unforgettable experience filled with laughter, beautiful landscapes, and, of course, some of the finest wines in the world. The Estate at Yountville provided us with a lavish and comfortable home base, while our visits to Jessup Cellars and Handwritten gave us a deeper appreciation for the artistry of winemaking.

Napa Valley, with its breathtaking scenery and exceptional wines, is a destination that every wine lover should have on their bucket list. If you ever find yourself planning a visit, make sure to check out these fantastic wineries and indulge in the world of wine like never before.

Until next time, cheers to the beauty of Napa Valley and the incredible experiences it has to offer! 🍷🌿
